Kwesi Pratt fires shots at NPP

He believes some people seek favour from some rank and file of the party by perpetrating unwarranted acts

Kwesi Pratt Jnr says the LMVCA demonstration was needless

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr is suggesting that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) enjoy being in opposition.

His comments came in the wake of consistent internal wrangling in the party. One of such has led to the death of its Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.

Speaking on Adom FM’s the ace journalist said the happenings in NPP is despicable. He believes some people seek favour from some rank and file of the party by perpetrating unwarranted acts.

“Some NPP member seem to be enjoying being in opposition. Their actions seem to suggest that they are not ready for power. What is happening does not speak well of the party. If you sit at the party’s headquarters, insult and provoke certain executives as they pass by, just for them to react so you attack them, do you love you party?”

“If you write that your flag-bearer, Nana Addo is intolerant and that he is behind the internal wrangling, do you think people will vote for your party? If you say your general secretary and chairman have taken bribes, do you expect people to vote for a party whose executives take bribes? What is wrong with NPP? I don’t understand this!” he fumed.

Adding: “If you say Nana Addo is the only clean person in NPP and people vote for him, can he be the vice president and a minister at the same time? You paint a picture that even if we vote for you, Nana Addo will govern the country with thieves. The basis of all that is happening is that, people want to gain favour from others so they do everything possible to get attention. What is this? So annoying!” he chided.

Two men poured acid on the Upper East regional chairman of the party when he was returning from his construction site late in the night.

According to Adama Mahama’s aide, Zakariah Osman, the NPP chairman was in his car when he was stopped by two unidentified persons, and in an attempt to inquire the reason why he was stopped, they poured the substance on him.

The regional chairman was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital where he died.
