Parliament Summons EC Boss

Dr Afari-Gyan will appear before parliament to give answers to the postponement of the district assembly elections.

Parliament has summoned the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan to appear before the House and answer questions on the postponed District Level elections postponed.

Dr Afari-Gyan is expected in the House on Thursday.

The Minority in Parliament moved the motion for the chairman to appear and the majority supported it.

A disqualified aspirant for the position of assemblyman in the Eyipeh Electoral Area in the Central Region, Benjamin Eyi Mensah dragged the Electoral Commission to Court for failing to include him in the upcoming election.

The judges unanimously ruled on Friday the Electoral Commission must reopen nominations after one Benjamin Eyi Mensah.
