NPP chairman, Mahama Adams dies after acid attack

Mahama Adams, Upper East regional chairman of the NPP has died.

 

The Upper East regional Chairman of the New Patriotic party, Mahama Adams who was bathed with an acid by two unidentified men last night in the has been confirmed dead.

Adam had been fighting for his life in the hospital after two assailants stopped his car whilst he was about entering his house midnight on Wednesday and poured the corrosive substance on his face and entire body.

The chairman was returning from his construction site late in the night when the two unknown men stopped him.

Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Police ASP Thomas Agbanyon said,"The seats of his pick-up have all been torn by the acid. He was showered with the acid, from the head through the face to the body and all parts."

According to Adama Mahama’s aide, Zakariah Osman, the NPP chairman was in his car when he was stopped by two unidentified persons, and in an attempt to inquire the reason why he was stopped, they poured the substance on him.

The regional chairman was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital where he is currently being treated has been confirmed dead.
