The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is distributing relief items to victims of the June 3, flood and inferno disaster.

The distribution is taking place at Circle. Among the items being distributed are blankets, cups, mosquito nets, bowls, water bottles and mattresses.

A displaced person would have to register to benefit from the exercise which is expected to continue till Sunday as government will document the identities of the victims.

Communications Minister, Dr. Omane Boamah has said that government will resort to using water tankers to provide clean water to victims.

Over 200 people are reported dead while properties running into millions of cedis have been destroyed by the torrential rains that fell for over three hours.

Some people who had gathered in front of a Pharmacy Shop at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle near the Goil Filling Station adjacent to the GBC Towers to seek for refuge from the heavy downpour unfortunately lost their lives following a fire outbreak at the Goil filling station.
