Black Stars coach, Avram Grant has emerged as a shock contender to replace the recently-sacked Garry Monk at Swansea. The move has led to some Ghanaians on social media expressing their discontent.

Health authorities in the Tema Metropolis have confirmed the outbreak of bird flu in the area. At least 24,000 birds are being examined. A containment plan is being considered by the authorities however.

The Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) has offered an unqualified apology to President John Dramani Mahama for the use of the word ‘mentoring’ in its statement on corruption released on December 9, 2015. The Ghana Integrity Initiative had in the said statement urged President John Dramani Mahama to go for a mentoring session from some African heads of state who are making progress in the fight against corruption.

And finally, reactions and agitations about the current increment in the prices of utilities indicate that Christmas will be affected, especially for businesses.Businesses might suffer due to the imminent increment in cost of production, come January 2016. The Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC) last week approved a hike in water and electricity tariffs by a total of more than 120 percent.
