A member of VVIP music trio, Reggie Rockstone has disclosed that the decision by the group to release a video of their single Dogo Yaro before the audio was well thought of.

He told Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show, Brunch2Lunch that their experience taught them to release the video first. According to him, the viewer ends up liking the song if the video is classic. And that, he believes has contributed to Dogo Yaro’s success.

“That’s the experience. If you could remember, after releasing ‘Selfie’, it didn’t take long before the video was released so the song went far. Visuals are very important because there are some songs when you hear on radio, it wouldn’t move you compared to watching the video,” he said.

Adding, “When we released OMG, Book of Hiplife and Hustle, we made a mistake. The video was late. But Skolom video came right after the release of the audio and that was the trick. So now, when you release, straight with the video.”

Reggie Rockstone revealing how the song came about credited his group members.

“Prodigal brought the idea to release another song though Skolom is still vibrant and Zeal brought that chorus line, ‘Dogo Yaro’. He is a magician when it comes to chorus lines. He came out with something that could connect to all the Zongos, all Ghanaians and of course outside Ghana,” he said.

Throwing more light on the content and title of the song, Reggie Rockstone said, “It’s a three way name. It represents strength, small boy danger, but on the street, it also represents sexual virility of a man.”
