Article Wan explains “Solo”

Here is the meaning of the word "Solo", the title of Article Wan's mega hit song.

“Solo”, an Afro-pop song released in July 2016 and produced by Article Wan, has reached the length and breadth of this country. The blistering banger has hacked the airwaves for the past six months.

Explaining the word “Solo”, Article Wan said it is a Ga word which translates as ‘different’ or ‘unique’.

“The whole ‘Solo’ word is not English. It’s a Ga term which means different or unique. And that makes me different from every musician and everyone in the industry,” Article Wan told Pulse.com.gh

When asked what makes him different, Article said “Just look at my style and beat. It has no competition. I am totally different.”

Talking about the main genre of the song which has brought some confusion, Article Wan said “It’s an Afrobeats and has some Dancehall vibes in it so we can call it Afro-Dancehall too.”
