Rising Tamale artiste, Ahmed Mujahid Bello popularly known in the showbiz circles as Fancy Gadam has set a new record at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The "Nation Champion" hitmaker has become the first ever Northern-based artiste with no (or less) Accra hits to win an award at the annual Ghana Music Awards.
He set the record at the 18th edition of the VGMA which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, April 8.
Fancy Gadam, whose impressive work in 2016 earned him a nomination in the "Best New Artiste" category beat a stiff competition from Medikal, Nii Funny, Article Wan, Feli Nuna, Ebony, Rudebwoy Ranking and Eugy to clinch the most prestigious award for newcomers.
Fancy Gadam rose to prominence last year after he reportedly filled the Tamale Sports Stadium for his concert and came to Accra to fill the National Theatre for another record concert.
Upon receiving the award, he thanked his team, fans and the award organisers for supporting him.
