Hiplife artiste, Kontihene has chided president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Obour over what he describes as a seemingly abysmal performance during his term of office.

According to him, Obour has failed as president of the union but keeps deceiving himself with abstract achievements.

“Obour is a big dude. I’m very disappointed in him because he’s been at the other side of the business before and according to him and his people, they think they are trying but I don’t know who they think they are deceiving. I think they are deceiving their own ideologies. They have answers to every question… The reflection of Obour’s performance reflects on the shape of his belly,” Kontihene said in an interview with Pulse TV.

Asked what he would advise MUSIGA does, the rapper suggested that professionals be allowed to steer the affairs of the union instead of people with parochial interest.

Incumbent Obour has said that he deserves a second term because his administration has been able to chalk a number of successes including the Institutionalization of Ageing Musicians Welfare, Setting up a MUSIGA Academy, signing a contract with Charterhouse which makes the union have a major stake when it comes to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as well as accountability brought to the union by himself and his executives.

About 150 delegates will converge at the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua on October 29, 2015 to elect executives who will steer the affairs of the Musicians Union of Ghana for the next four years.

The filing of nominations for the elections runs from Monday, July 27 to Friday, August 28.
