Award winning rapper Flowking Stone of Bradez fame said while on stage that he was ‘disrespected’ at the show.
Big ups to Tigo for organizing perhaps the biggest ever outdoor show dubbed Tigo Unplugged; bringing together a host of artistes as such. This is one show that brought together thousands of people to witness one grand event. This show gave audience great sound; unmatched by all standards. Perhaps, this show requires a name as a ‘Festival’ and not just ‘‘unplugged’’.
I write about one incident that occurred between the producers of the show and an artiste. Specifically, was the impasse between Flowking Stone and George Quaye of Charterhouse; and what really happened in spite of all the talk about it.
Award winning rapper Flowking Stone of Bradez fame said while on stage that he was ‘disrespected’ at the show. Meanwhile, HashTagGhana.com in an interview with DJ Slim; the official DJ for Bradez gave an account of what really happened with regard to the Flowking Stone at the Tigo Unplugged show.
He said according to the contract Flowking Stone signed with Tigo, they were supposed to have performed for an hour. Further to that, there was an initial arrangement to the crew up at the hotel they were made to lodge in ahead of the show. Meanwhile, the organizers delayed for close to 2 hours before showing up to pick them up to the venue.
DJ slim says, although the team had prepared for 1 hour, they were told by another person from Tigo to cut the duration for the performance down to 20 minutes, only to be told again few minutes to going on stage, to slash the performance down further to 10 minutes.
He says George Quaye eventually came to the stage and shouted at him and Flowking Stone to stop performing and get off the stage, in the middle of their performance.
George Quaye of Charterhouse; the producers of the show posted some comments (which I will consider to be unnecessary, premature and childish) on his Facebook page that seems to have been targeted at Stone as follows:
Flowking Stone also responded likewise on his Facebook page as follows:
So far, there appears to be ‘beef’ between Flowking Stone and George Quaye (a.k.a Aboagye) on this, while the latter promises to ‘step on toes’ in the coming days.
