 On the 22 of December 1981, a child was born to Mr. G.A. Samini and Theresa Nusala,   Emmanuel Andrews Samini popularly known as Batman Samini in Wa, in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He had his basic and primary education at Holy Family Basic School and then continued at St Margaret Mary Secondary School, Dansoman for his secondary education.

He has been living in Dansoman since he was 9 and that’s when he discovered his potential for singing. He started singing in the church choir at the age of 14, and become a professional musician after a musical collaboration with other musicians in 1999.

Samini’s debut studio album ‘’Dankwansere’’, was released in 2004, topped the local music chart for two weeks and won two awards at the Ghana Music Awards. The album was supported by the single ‘’Linda’’. Since then he has released three subsequent albums namely Samini (2007), Dagaati (2008) and High- Grade (2014).  Samini is under the record label ‘’High Grade Family’’. Since then he has performed alongside foreign artiste such as Sean Paul, Akon, Shaggy, Kevin Little, Jay Z, Damien Marley, Bennie Man, Wayne Wonder, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Culture( of blessed memory), Etana and Steel Pulse from Jamaica. He has also performed with some Ghanaian international artiste like the rap lord Sarkodie, the dancehall queen Kaakie, Stonebwoy, Muma Gee, Wizkid, Kwabena Kwabena and Elivava.

With his hard work paying off, he has won several awards both locally and internationally. In 2005 at the GHANA MUSIC AWARDS he won both ARTISTE OF THE YEAR and HIPLIFE ARTISTE OF THE YEAR AWARDS. In2006, he won the MOBO Awards for BEST AFRICAN ACT. He swept home three awards at the GHANA MUSIC AWARDS in 2007; African Magic Artiste of the Year, Pop Song of the Year and Record song of the Year.  In 2009, he won Best Performer at the MTV Africa Music Video Awards. In 2010, he won THE HEADIES for BESTAFRICAN ACT. In 2011, he won the MOST GIFTED REGGAE DANCEHALL VIDEO ARTIST at the Channel O Music Video Awards and in 2011, at the GHANA MUSIC AWARDS, he won the Album of the Year Award.  In 2013, at the BASS AWARDS, he took home three awards that night. Kwame Nkrumah Award (Artiste of the Year), Best Performer (Reggae/Dancehall), and the Best Dancehall Artiste.  He has several nominations as well. Thus since Samini started singing till present he has won a total of 13 awards and 15 nominations. Moving away from the singing ti the acting scene, Samini starred in the movie ‘’Coz ov Moni’’.

He has received international recognition and toured the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada and the Netherlands.  He has a whole ‘’ signature tune ‘’ tune to himself. ‘’KPOOI’’.  Batman who wears dread locks says he just wants to portray the African in him. Samini does most of his recording at Ashanti International Studios i.e. with Nana king and Kwame   ‘G’. He is the face of MTN in Ghana and some of his ringtones/caller tunes can be heard on MTN across Africa. Some of his hit tunes include Odo, Samini Music, Linda and Gya shee.
