Ghanaian Musicians Receive Money From Youtube Monetization

Shatta Wale, Pope Skinny, Kwabena Kwabena, Ruff N Smooth, and other Ghanaian musicians have received money from MiPROMO for monetizing their videos on youtube.

Shatta Wale, Pope Skinny, Kwabena Kwabena, Ruff N Smooth, and other Ghanaian musicians gathered at Lincoln Hotel in Accra on November 26 where they received a sum of Gh¢30,000 from MiPROMO Media company. The money was generated from their music videos monetized under the Youtube monetization programme for the past few months including other online store sales.

Officials of MiPROMO urged Ghanaian musicians to also focus on generating more money from online in addition to their event earnings. They have also put in place measures to start a new campaign against free online music  downloads dubbed “No Free Download” which would enure to the benefit of Ghanaian struggling stars.

Self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale expressed his gratitude at the event after receiving his cash, saying “I feel like Ghanaian Jay-Z”.
