One of the finest Ghanaian veteran DJs, DJ Young has said in an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh that he is honoured for being recognised as one of the greatest DJs in the music industry.

DJ Young Joe, a veteran and Neat FM DJ who started Djing early in the 80s was honoured by Merqury Republic, the main organisers of the highly anticipated Ghana DJ Awards, 2015.

He will be presented with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” trophy on the night in honour of his immerse contribution to the DJ and Ghana music fraternity. He will join his predecessors -- Kwesi Kyei Darkwa (K.K.D) and Tommy Annan Forson who won their honours at the maiden edition.

In an exclusive interview with Ghana’s best news and entertainment website, Pulse.com.gh, he expressed his endless appreciation to the organisers of the event for recognising his contributions to Ghanaian music industry, adding that he feels honoured. Although he was failed last year when the organisers refused to present him and Magic Sam with the awards last year, he still insisted he feels honoured. “I feel honoured for receiving this award. I want to thank the organisers for recognising my efforts” he said.

This year - the biggest in the history of the awards, under the theme AMPLIFIED, organizers, Merqury Republic, in a quest to include all facets of the Disc Jockeying, have revealed plans for a spectacular DJ showdown and a typical Night Club setting at the Accra International Conference Centre on February 21.

The highly anticipated event which has received positive reviews on radio and trending on social media will see some of the country's top celebrities, music acts and iconic Disc Jockeys grace the occasion.
