Highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu teams up with Sarkodie on new single

Highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu has disclosed that he has a new single with rapper Sarkodie which is about to drop soon.

Highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu, after hinting at Akosua Agyepong’s 25th anniversary celebration that he would do a song with rapper Sarkodie has told Flex newspaper that the song would be ready soon.

When asked the day this much awaited track Si Wo Yi Wo will be released, he said he was not interested in releasing singles as the young artiste do. “I am still working on the album and would have either seven or eight songs on the album. The album will be called Si Woyi Wo.”

Explaining why the album will be titled "Si Woyi Wo", he said, it is not a language or a term that has a meaning but it’s just a response to a story told in the song. It is catchy and will draw people`s attention and I believe that is how a commercial music should be.

Asked why he featured Sarkodie, he said Sarkodie is a very talented artiste because “when he came to the studio, I had recorded my part and I left some bars for him to fill in with his rap. Within some few minutes listening to the content of the song, he was able to deliver on it and I enjoyed it. The song is titled ‘To Nsa’ meaning buy alcohol. It is also a story line music recorded by Abbab studio.”

According to Nana Ampadu he hasn’t stopped doing music but because of his call as an Evangelist he has stayed low a bit. “I have also opened my arms to the younger artistes who are ready to use my song or probably feature me but it should be the way I do my music and whoever wants to use any of my songs should seek my concern first,” he told Flex newspaper
