Ghanaian Dancehall star, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr also known as Shatta Wale claims his fellow musicians travel from Ghana to American for cheap deals but try to boast.
“Ghanaian artistes boast of cheap deals” - Shatta Wale fires
According to the 31-year-old singer and producer, some Ghanaian musicians don’t consider the business side of showbiz but take delight in travelling from Ghana to America for deals worth between 4,000-5,000 dollars.
He was speaking about the Coke Studio Africa season 4 deal on Pluzz FM yesterday where he made this statement.
“When Shatta speaks out, Ghanaians should please help me out. I always tell people that the street and fans love me because they feel I am so real that I can’t hide anything. We are in an industry where an artiste will travel from Ghana to America for a 4,000-5,000 dollar deal. And when they come, they try to boast. When Asamoah Gyan and Messi make money, we all hear about it,” he opined.

He continued “You always see me in Ghana and I am still making money because I am not interested in boarding a plane. I want to live an artistic life that people can describe me as a role model. That’s what Jay Z and P Diddy are doing. You can question their number of hit songs but when you check their status, you will realise that they have taken advantage of their fame.”
“As an artiste, when I talk, please allow me. Most of them are creating lies in front of people. I don’t take delight in flying,” Shatta Wale concluded.
Shatta wale also added that he is the highest paid artiste among the entire artistes in the 4th edition of Coke Studio Africa. Shatta Wale will be pairing with Yemi Alade but says he didn’t like the idea.
Stonebwoy was paired with American R&B singer, Trey Songz while Efya was paired with Ugandan BET Award Winner Eddy Kenzo in the Coke Africa Studio 4.
Coke Studio Africa is a non-competitive show seeking to bring together and showcase the diversity of African musical talent. Season 4 includes artistes from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast.
