President John Mahama has revealed that the song he enjoys listening to in recent times is Stonebwoy’s Baafira.

“I like a lot of the old artistes. Of course Kojo Antwi continues to be my favourite. I like Gyedu Blay-Ambolley, KK Kabobo. I like the young ones too. I listen to some of the old young ones like Shasha Marley, Wutah, VIP. But recently I listen to Stonebwoy, I think he’s got a good hit with Sheekena and Baafira. That’s also a good one. I like Ghanaian music so I listen to most our artistes,” President Mahama said in an interview with Uniiq FM in Accra on Wednesday.

The exclusion of rapper, Sarkodie and dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has got many music fans talking with people wondering what could have led to the president’s choice.

While some believe Sarkodie's The masses, Dumsor and Inflation tracks chastising the government is the cause for his exclusion, others have said that Shatta Wale's could be his choice of lyrics.

Stonebwoy’s Baafira was adjudged Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
