Music streaming app now available on Android

Yesterday, the company came through on its promise and unveiled a beta version of Apple Music for Android.

Apple had promised in June, when it launched its Apple Music streaming app on iOS, that Android users would not be left out of the fun.

Yesterday, the company came through on its promise and unveiled a beta version of Apple Music for Android.

This will be only the second app ever that Apple has made for Android. The first being the ‘Move to iOS’ app, which isn’t really an app, traditionally speaking.

The Apple Music Android app went live yesterday on the Google Play Store and is now available for download here in Nigeria on devices with Android Jellybean 4.3 or higher.

To access the app you have to have an Apple ID, if you don’t already have one. If you have ever purchased anything from the iTunes store, then you probably already have an Apple ID.

The same three-month trial period that is applicable to iOS users of Apple’s streaming service is also available to Android users of the service. At the end of the three months, you can subscribe or the full Apple Music package for $4.99 (about N1000 depending on exchange rates).
