The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker, Ed Sheeran recently spoke about scoring his first acting gig, but did not reveal details about the project.

It has now emerged he will appear in The B**tard Executioner, a series about a 14th-century warrior who gives up fighting to become an executioner after divine intervention.

Sheeran will play Sir Cormac, a protege of a church elder in the series, which is currently shooting in the UK.

Sheeran and Sutter first worked together on Sons of Anarchy when the singer recorded a cover of Foy Vance's Make It Rain for the penultimate episode of the popular series.
