Young director announces new TV series “Shatta”

Kofi Awuah made the official announcement at a press soirée on Saturday, August 20 at the Chop Bar Restaurant, A&C Mall, East Legon, Accra.
“Shatta” TV series stars both old and new faces in showbiz including Strika of “Beast of No Nation” fame, Deborah Vanessa, veteran actress Belinda Oku (Adwoa Smart), Roselyn Ngissah, rapper Medikal, Katie Emerson (one of U.K’s celebrated actresses), Yaa Baby, Two Thoozin, Too Much, and a host of other famous personalities.
During the pre-production press launch, Awuah said “Shatta series is a dramatic comedy – a fusion of seriousness and comedy. What I want to let everyone know about the series is that it’s unique and has good content for every TV.”

“ And also, when you look at the statistical analysis of the number of Ghanaians who watch soap operas, it’s about 50% (which is the target audience of Shatta series),” Awuah added.
“But Shatta TV series will override the viewership of most of the soap operas on Ghanaian TVs,” he concluded.
The shooting of the TV series will roll out in a couple of weeks and will soon hit most local screens.
"Shatta" is an innovation of DKAMG MEDIA, a West African film production company and is a dramatic comedy television series which aims at challenging the status quo of the content of today’s entertainment programs on television.
