How this 760-pound couple lost nearly half their body weight in one year

The couple consistently planned their dates around going out to eat and spending nights at the buffet, where the two would chow down on three to four plates each.

Lexy and Danny Reed lost 760 Pounds in a year.

At one point, Lexi and Danny Reed were eating more than 8,000 calories every day combined. The couple consistently planned their dates around going out to eat and spending nights at the buffet, where the two would chow down on three to four plates each.

At 25 years old, Lexi weighed 480 pounds and at his heaviest, 28-year-old Danny tipped the scales at 280 pounds. Last year, the couple made a New Year’s resolution and actually stuck to it. Together, they’ve lost more than 300 pounds combined, reports the Daily Mail.

“My size controlled my life and it was also affecting my health,” Lexi told the Daily Mail. “I had difficulty breathing and I’m pretty sure I was pre-diabetic.

People don’t understand how hard it is to be overweight. I was once turned away at a theme park because I was too big to fit on the rollercoasters. It was humiliating.”

Last January, Lexi’s best friend challenged her to ban going out to eat for 30 days. Because she wasn’t allowed to indulge in her favorite fried foods, she and Danny both stuck to the challenge.

They started cooking at home and made healthier versions of their favorite meals. Now, Lexi takes in about 1,500 calories a day, while Danny aims a little higher.

Lexi, who is documenting her transformation on Instagram, started working up a sweat by doing 30 minutes of cardio four times a week. Now she’s up to 1-hour HIIT sessions on the elliptical, jump roping, and box jumps.

She spends more time outside with Danny, where the two go on hikes. Instead of the buffet, they both hit up the gym 5 to 6 days a week, where they’ve worked their way to the weight room. Lexi has dropped 238 pounds and Danny is down 72 pounds.

The pair kept each other going, but Lexi hopes their story will inspire other couples who are looking to take control of their health.

“You don’t need a trainer, surgery, to spend tons of money on healthy food, or supplements,” she says. “You just need yourself, and to put forward hard work and determination. Small changes are going to add up to big results.”
