5 Tips For Choosing The Best Moisturizer For You

This episode of Pulse Daily guides you through choosing moisturizer for your skin type.

Moisturizing is an essential part of skincare, it should form a routine. Unfortunately these days, people easily skip moisturising, a lot of times we've come across people who claim they don't moisturise because they have oily skin, it's wrong!

The truth is even if you have oily skin you are supposed to moisturize. What you should do is to find/shop for a moisturiser that works for your skin type, in this case one that is not oily/greasy; a non-comedogenic lotion is always recommended.

Moisturising essentially provides the skin's needed moisture and nourishes it; keeping it healthy and of course glowing.

So when next you are going shopping, consider these factors when choosing a suitable moisturizer:

Know Your Skin Type. This is the first step in choosing a suitable moisturizer, You should know whether your skin is Normal, Oily, dry, combination and so...

The next thing you do is select a moisturizer based on your skin type. For instance If your skin is oily or normal, go for a water-based moisturizer. In the ingredients, scan for words such as silicone. These words hint that the product is water-based and water based moisturizers are non greasyan great for normal to oily skin. Another key word on the label to note is non-comedogenic; This means the moisturizer won't clog pores which is ideal for people with oily skin prone to breakouts.

For those with dry skin, try an oil-based moisturizer. The oil it contains coat the skin and allow moisture to stay trapped within the skin cells.

Stay Away from moisturizers with alcohol and acids, they end up irritating the skin.

Choose moisturizer with sun protection. Because of their components some moisturizers have adverse effects when they are exposed to the sun so you want to be protected against this.
