The NMC said the report on the ban by Daily Guide which was widely circulated in the media is false
In a rejoinder, the registrar of the NMC Felix Nyanteh said publication was false.
"The Nursing and Midwifery Council would like to state that the publication is not factual and carries inaccuracies that has the tendency of damaging our hard earned reputation and the mutual relationship we have with our stakeholders. The council finds the publication as alarming and untrue.”
The rejoinder specifically mentioned that the “golden sunbeam international college of science and technology as mentioned in your publication is one of the schools in the Greater Accra Region which has been accredited by the council to offer registered general nursing programme.”
The council of the Golden Sunbeam, is assuring the general public and potential students of the school to disregard the publication and take the opportunity to apply for admission to the institution as soon as possible.
“In the light of this rebuttal, The Council would like to assure the general public, especially prospective Nursing students, that Golden Sunbeam has the necessary accreditations from the National Accreditation Board, (NAB) the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and affiliated to the UDS for all its current programs I.e. BSc and Diploma Nursing, and BSc and Diploma in Agribusiness Processing Technology Students should, therefore, ignore the malicious publication and complete the admission formalities as soon as possible. It must be pointed out that the Governing Council of the College is made up of prominent citizens who will not support any illegalities.”
