The Madina Divisional Police has arrested a quack doctor who is believed to have practised for more than two decades without a licence and a certificate.

The fake doctor, Adams Arimeyaw, in his mid-50s, was operating the healthcare facility, ‘Covenant Clinic,” at a compound house in Madina in Accra, Daily Graphic reports.

A special exercise conducted by the Medical and Dental Council’s investigative team, with the assistance of the Madina Divisional Police, revealed that the said doctor was operating under unhygienic conditions.

Apart from the unhygienic conditions at the clinic, the doctor could not produce any certificates to back his claim that he was a certified medical practitioner, neither could he mention the school from which he had his training.

Some medicines had no labels on them, while folders believed to contain the records of patients who patronised his services were inappropriately kept.
