The National Labour Commission (NLC) has directed striking public sector doctors to call off their three-week old strike.
Members of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) are on strike to demand improvement and codification of their conditions of service.
The GMAhas already expressed lack of confidence in the ability of the National Labour Commission (NLC) to resolve the impasse between striking doctors and government.
But a statement by the NLC said it met the employer represented by the ministry of health, employment and labour relations, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and the Ghana Health Service on the other hand. The NLC also met the GMA and has directed as follows:
