It is common to find a little bit of ginger in a Ghanaian meal. It’s one of the spices we love to use and perhaps if you knew about the many medical benefits of eating ginger you will add a lot more ginger to your meals.

However, it is important to measure the amount of ginger you take, especially if you are drinking it as tea. Eating ginger raw or drinking it as tea is most effective, however, do not drink more than three cups of ginger tea a day, it can have adverse effects on your body if you over do it.

If you have a painful period, you might want to try drinking some ginger tea. Ginger tea helps the muscles to relax, which reduces cramps associated with periods.

Ginger has amino acids which helps in increasing blood circulation and decreasing the possibility of cardiovascular diseases. When your blood circulation is improved, key nutrients, minerals and oxygen is spread throughout the body more efficiently.
