Trainee nurses at the Cape Coast College of Nursing and Midwifery are being compelled to pay bribes to syndicates in order to get their arrears released to them.
According to Daily Graphic, the situation is due to delay by Controller and Accountant General's Department to pay arrears due some final year students of the school. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning gave financial clearance for the payment last year, but the CAGD is yet to pay the students.
