Jack Wilshere, has described the fitness levels needed to survive in the Premier League as 'absurd' as the Arsenal star hopes for an upcoming injury-free campaign.

The Gunners' midfielder missed the majority of last season following an ankle injury received by a tackle from Manchester United defender Paddy McNair in November.

The setback was the latest in the 23-year-old's stop-start career, but he returned towards the end of the campaign to help the Gunners retain the FA Cup in May.

And speaking to August's edition of Men's Fitness, cover star Wilshere spoke about the crazy demands needed to survive at the top in the sport as well as how his fitness training has developed over the years.
