Furniture company set to become sought-after food joint as company re-designs its restaurants

IKEA announced plans to overhaul their restaurants to make the spaces and menus even more consumer-friendly.

Incase you didn't know, Swedish furniture/household items company, IKEA does infact have a restaurant section in their numerous stores.

The group has therefore announced plans to overhaul said restaurants to make the spaces and menus even more consumer-friendly.

Thus, according to Travel+Leisure, the current large, open format is going to be broken down into three more specialized sections - a barstool area for quick meals, a family-friendly dining area and a coffee-house-style spot with couches and lounge chairs.

This is following reports by the company that Ikea food is bigger than many realise and becoming a core business.

Already, the company has taken steps to up the restaurant's menu from  vegan and chicken versions of their Swedish meatballs to a switch to sustainable fish.
