Banku overtakes porridge as favorite breakfast meal

“Breakfast” literally means “break the fast,” so breakfast is your first meal after a whole night of sleeping where your body detoxes and repairs itself and fasting

Breakfast is the first meal of a day, eaten early in the morning before the day's work begin. Health professionals say it to be the most important meal of the day.

Apart from giving you the energy you need to get things done it also helps you focus at work or school.

Some prefer to eat light whilst others will go for heavy meals in the morning.

From the views sampled by Pulse.com.gh from people on the streets of East Legon clearly, more people are shifting from the porridge, tea, oats etc.

Many of them preferred heavy breakfast like banku, fufu, waakye and Rice balls.

According to one of the men, eating heavy breakfast like banku is the best compared to the light ones like Milo or porridge which will cause you to go hungry in the next hour of consumption."I will usually buy 5cedis worth of banku with 2cedis fish every morning and consume to my satisfaction, what will I do with Tea?."

Another man also said he would prefer to eat banku for breakfast because it's less expensive compared to having Milo which is more expensive, especially when you want to add other accompaniments." I prefer heavy breakfast in the mornings because I don't have that kind of money to prepare the tea, looking at the cost."

A young woman told pulse.com.gh that, she had fufu for breakfast. She said enjoying heavy breakfast is part of her new year resolutions. "I had fufu this morning, we are in a new year."

The last person told Pulse he would prefer waakye to porridge any morning. "There is power in waakye, porridge no get power."
