France gives Ghana €37m for Kumasi roads project

The project will see to the construction of the Lake Road/Oforikrom bypass and the Aboabo drainage works.

The €37.50 million is being sourced from the French Development Agency (AfD)France is giving Ghana €37.50 million through the French Development Agency (AfD) for the second phase of the Kumasi Roads and Drainage Extension Project.The project will see to the construction of the Lake Road/Oforikrom bypass and the Aboabo drainage works.

Related: > More loans AfDB approves $120million corporate loan for GhanaThe announcement was made when Ghana’s president John Mahama met with France leader Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris, Monday.President Mahama expressed appreciation to President Hollande for his support during the Ebola outbreak and France's role in stabilising the situation in Mali and other parts of the subregion.He also thanked France for agreeing to support the training of teachers in the teaching and learning of french in Ghanaian schools.
