First Capital Plus Bank to become Capital Bank

This is as a result of a restructuring aimed at making the Bank more competitive on the market.

Pulse Business understands that First Capital Plus Bank will be rebranded as Capital Bank from December 2015.

This is as a result of a restructuring process in order to compete more effectively on the market.

Again, reports reaching Pulse Business indicate that plans are far gone to  initiate the leaner version of the bank which burst onto the scene in 2009.

First Capital Plus is a wholly owned Ghanaian Bank, which was  given a class one universal baning licence in August 2013 after operating as a Savings and Loans from OCT 2009.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mensa Otabil as  Board Chair, it  has since then opened 18 operational branches and won several awards.

However, the bank has struggled recently, leading to a difficulty in meeting sponsorship obligations to the Ghana Football association since it signed a  10 million dollar- deal as main sponsor of the elite division.

The bank has since informed the GFA of its  plans to suspend its sponsorship  to the Association as it undergoes its restructuring,a proposal that has been confirmed by the association's president Kwesi Nyantakyi.
