Banking in Ghana Barclays Bank introduces two new credit cards

Barclays Bank Ghana has formally launched its range of credit cards at an impressive event held the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

Credit cards are issued by financial institutions to customers to allow them to pay for products and services and pay back the financial institution at a later time.

The cards are in two kinds namely the Barclays Classic Card and the Barclays Platinum Card. play

The market leading credit card products offer 55 days interest free credit and require the customer to pay only 5% of funds spent on the card each month.

 

Despite its wide usage all over the world, the credit cards are new in Ghana and Barclays Bank is hoping this will satisfy the Ghanaian customer's need for easy and convenient payment for goods and services.

The cards are in two kinds namely the Barclays Classic Card and the Barclays Platinum Card.

Customers who earn below 5,000 Ghana Cedis qualify for the Classic Card while those who earn above that threshold can apply for the Platinum Card.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Emezino Afiegbe, Business Development Manager, Visa West Africa, congratulated Barclays and expressed his delight at the collaboration with Barclays to deliver this unique product on to the Ghanaian market.  He believed that the product would excite existing customers and attract new customers to the bank as the credit card offers many benefits as a payment instrument.

In his remarks, Mr Isaac Tetteh, Business Banking Director said the credit card solution is in response to the growing demand from their customers and provides the best basket of benefits on the market. “We have launched the cards for our existing and potential customers who would love to have a convenient way of paying. Customers from all income brackets can apply for our cards.” he added.
