Dr. Ernest Addison to head the Central Bank

However our deep sources say the renowned international economist Dr. Ernest Addison is favorite for the job.
He is more likely to take over from the outgoing governor Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku who has tendered in his resignation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Until 2011, Dr. Addisonworked at the Bank of Ghana as the Director of Research for 8years.
After leaving the central bank, he joined the African Development Bank (AfDB).
He has been at his current position for the past 6 years and is in charge as the Lead Economist, Regional Director General—South of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The international economist Dr. Addison, is credited with major reforms at the Research Department of the Bank of Ghana between 2003 and 2011 as director of the department.

He was also a Chief Economist with the West African Monetary Institute from 2000-2003.Dr. Addison is a product of Mfantsipim School in the Central Region, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He also earned his Masters in Economics from the Cambridge University where he was awarded of Philosophy (MPhil) in Economics.
He is credited with several publications on economics and also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics.
He got his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Economics, from 1989-1993 at McGill University.
