School Boys Rape And Torture 87-Year-Old Woman In Wheelchair

Two schoolboys have been jailed for 30 years for a sadistic attack on an elderly woman who was raped and had bleach poured down her throat in her own home.

Ruben Jose Melanson and Raymond Michael Miranda, then aged 15 and 14 respectively, broke into in a complex for senior citizens while the victim was asleep, a court heard.

They tied up the 87-year-old woman, before carrying out a brutal sexual assault and pouring two bottles of bleach over her body and down her throat.

The victim was in court to watch as the boys were jailed for what a prosecutor called one of the worst cases he had ever encountered, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reports.

The OAP, now confined to a wheelchair, bravely said in court: "Now for the boys, I want them to look at me. I appreciate your apology.

"I want you to look at me and remember me because when you broke into my apartment in April, you terrorised me and also you took away my independence. You did evil things."

The victim only survived because she was able to pull an emergency cord and alerted the manager of the flat complex in Hemet, California, in April last year.

Emergency services arrived and performed CPR on the woman.

Cops captured Melanson nearby after a short foot chase while Miranda was apprehended following an appeal.

Melanson apologised to his victim saying: "I’m sorry for going into your house. I don't expect you to forgive me."

The boys, now aged 16 and 15, will be sent to a juvenile prison until they are 18, before being transferred to an adult facility
