Nine pupils have confessed to drinking palm wine secretly in class when one of them brought the content from home and introduced it to them.
Nine, class five pupils of the Maamobi Prisons Primary School are on suspension for getting tipsy after a palm wine drinking spree.
The nine, between the ages of five and 11 years, according to school authorities, were reeking of alcohol in class which prompted their teacher to question them.
The nine confessed to drinking the local alcoholic brew secretly in class when one of them brought the content from home and introduced it to them.
School authorities have asked them to sign a bond to be of good behaviour and have invited their parents.
“I was feeling dizzy that day... when I took it… I have been asked to write a bond of good behaviour,” one of the pupils told Joy FM.
The nine are also going through counseling.
