A Chinese woman has gained popularity on social media after she posted a short video of herself showing her extremely swollen mouth which she claimed was as a result of an attempt to steal honeycomb.

It appears the woman lacks the skills required to harvest honey, thus she was stung by the wild bees.

The unnamed woman shot the video with her cell phone and captioned it: “I was bored and went into the mountains to catch bees, but I was helpless when the aggressive bees stung me.”

Rather than hiding her face in order to avoid mockery, the woman chose to circulate the video herself, apparently, to raise awareness about how dangerous it could be to want to deal with bees if one lacks the requisite skills.

The video has been widely circulated and some social media users made fun of her, while others sympathised with her.
