A suspected California car thief tried to hide from cops by spray-painting his face black.
Fleeing Suspect Spray-Painted Face For 'Camouflage'
Police in California said a fleeing suspect attempted to camouflage himself by covering his face in black spray-paint.
Jose Espinoza allegedly doused his head and neck in the dark coloring in a bid to avoid capture in Madera on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old had earlier run from a stolen car, according to KFSN.
But he was busted after cops tracked him down and saw through his amateur camouflage.
It clearly showed that the rest of his body was a different color.
"The camouflage was ineffective," Madera Police Department wrote on Facebook. Espinoza was booked at Madera County Jail.
He faces charges of receiving stolen property and unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, reports CBS Sacramento.
