Tuna Students Attack Teacher For Undressing Female Student

The Tuna Senior Technical School in the Upper West region has been temporary shut down following a riot by some students on Thursday.

Students of the school were said to have gone on rampage Thursday afternoon after a teacher instructed a female student to undress before her colleagues for wearing unapproved attire to school.The development angered the students who went about vandalizing and looting school property in the end.The police were invited to restore calm to the school. 38 students were then arrested but  Police have since granted them bail.

The police are still investigating into the case that lead to the riot.

District Police Commander for the Tuna Sawla Galbar District in the Northern region , ASP Francis Numado who confirmed the incident to StarrNews, said enough police personnel have been deployed to the school to ensure calm.

He said some female student come to the police station to lodge in complaint against a teacher after he have been by some student of the school.

“When we got to the school, they had all left. They vandalized many things including the staff common room and the assistant head teacher’s bungalow,” He addedASP Numado added “They also destroyed things in the library, computer laboratory and also made away with 46 computers so we picked some of them up for investigations.”

The students who were arrested were granted police inquiry bail.
