The 16-year-old girl, says she met a man on Facebook and agreed to meet up, but at the meeting she got raped by a gang
A 22 year old man, Joevonte Petit-Homme is behind bars, charged with sexual battery after police say he lured a 16-year-old girl into a gang rape, FloridaToday.com reports.
The 16-year-old victim says she met, the suspect, on Facebook and agreed to meet up.
According to the police report, once she and Petit-Homme were inside, he picked her up and "flopped her on the bed" where he started to take her clothes off.
Then, the victim says four or five other males came into the room.
The teen told police that Petit-Homme and two others then started to hold her down and rape her. She apparently pleaded with them to stop, telling them that she had a boyfriend and that she wanted to go home.
But police said they kept going.
Petit-Homme was the only man in the the alleged gang rape that was arrested.
He was in court Wednesday at the Brevard County Jail where a judge ordered he be held on a $200,000 bond.
"Plus the judge imposed a GPS device so we can keep track if he makes bond," said Assistant State Attorney Gary Beatty. "We'll know where he is and what he's doing."
Police say more arrests could be coming in this case.
"This is still an ongoing investigation," Beatty said. "Palm Bay police is conducting a further follow up investigation regarding this and any additional details would be premature for me to talk about."
