A 26 year old man identified as a Nigerian by name Ngodrikwu Adubuzu has been arrested in Accra with dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The 100 slabs concealed in a pillow was intercepted by the police of which Ngodrikwu Adubuzu is said to have claimed ownership. The substance, according to the police, was concealed in twenty pillows with each having two or three slabs.
Briefing the media in Accra, the Deputy Commissioner of Accra Regional Police, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said the substance was wrapped with paper and black polythene and fastened with sellotapes. He disclosed that the police acted on a tip off.
He has assured the public of thorough investigations into the issue as the police would take the dried leaves to the forensic laboratory to get them tested. Mr. Tetteh Yohuno, however, indicated that they would, in the meantime, arraign the suspect before court.
