A 24-year-old security man, Carlos Amah yesterday made his first appearance before an Accra District Court after he was arrested and charged for raping a cook at a restaurant based in Osu.
The court presided over by Mr. Stephen Owusu remanded Carlos Armah into police custody to reappear on November, 21 for further hearing.

Detective Sergeant Simon Terkpor, in narrating the facts to the court said the complainant, was a 52-year-old Kwasi Kuntukununku Asante, a businessman who owns the said restaurant
He said both the victim and Armah work at the restaurant as cook and security man respectively.
According to the GNA, Sergeant Terkpor said on October 23, this year, at around 10:30 pm, the victim was asleep on a mattress spread on the floor, near the dining hall when suddenly the accused sneaked into the place, held her and demanded to have sex with her.
Prosecution said the victim resisted and screamed for help but, her call did not yield any result.
In the course of struggling with the accused, the 19-year-old victim laid her hand on a disposable spoon on the floor and used same to hit Armah’s face.

Sergeant Terkpor said Armah became furious and physically attacked the victim until she became feeble with blood oozing from her mouth.
As if that was not enough, the suspect removed the victim’s pants, angrily tore it and eventually had sex with her.
Prosecution said Armah then gorgeously walked back to his duty post after warning to kill the victim if she informed anyone about her ordeal.
However, the victim passed through the back door of the restaurant and rushed to the complainant’s house at Dzorwulu in Accra and narrated the entire incident to him, according to GNA.
The complainant reportedly accompanied the victim to the restaurant and the security man was arrested and handed over to the Osu Police Station.

The victim was given a medical form to seek medical attention, and later the case was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit.
