Mr Zhu claimed when he refused to pay the manager threatened to beat him with a stick and pointed to a sign at the bottom of the menu that stated: "The seafood listed above is charged per item."
The platter included 40 prawns stir-fried with garlic.

After negotiations the customer paid £205 - 2,000 yuan.
Mr Zhu, from Nanjing, was on holiday in Qingdao when he dined at the Shande Live Seafood and Barbecued Home-Cooked Dishes restaurant on Sunday.
The owner claimed they charge a lot because they are freshly caught, reported Chinese news sites.
The restaurant was slammed on social media site Sina Weibo where he was called "greedy", "shameless", "selfish" and "hateful".
