Parents of quintuplets promised a house

Oyo-Ita said that the house will be gifted to the couple under the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Scheme.

Punch reports that Oyo-Ita made the promise while visiting the new born babies on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

She also promised the father of the quintuplets, Mr Imudia Uduehi, who is a graduate from the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, a job with the Federal Civil Service. Before now, Uduehi, was unemployed.

Oyo-Ita described the children as a great blessing given to the couple by God.

According to her, the job opportunity offered to Uduehi would give him the means to cater for the children.

“I am very happy for you and I am standing here this afternoon representing the entire civil service of Nigeria. Today is a day of joy for all of us.

“Indeed you are a couple that has been so blessed by God. You have been married for just two years and God has blessed you with five children at once.

“I want to tell you that the Federal Integrated Staff Housing programme will be made available to you, we will give you a house that can accommodate you, your husband and your five children.”

Punch reports that Oyo-Ita also presented cash gifts and diapers to the couple, while thanking the doctors for their efforts in ensuring that the babies were delivered alive as well as keeping the mother alive.

She went on to applaud the medical team for caring for the mother of the quintuplets throughout the period of the pregnancy until delivery.

The mother of the kids, Mrs Oluwakemi Uduehi, who spoke on behalf of her family, thanked the Head Of Service for her kind gesture.

She is a staff of the National Population Commission.

Dr Bunmi Ladipo who delivered the babies, explained that there had been no complication duirng the delivery although the children were delivered by Cesarean section.
