Businessman in prison for defiling neighbour's 8-yr-old child
An Abuja based businessman has been remanded in prison for defiling an eight-year-old girl.
According to the police prosecutor, David Kafanchan, the case was reported at the Karmo Division bt the victim's father on July 7, the day of the incident, after her mother discovered that the girl was bleeding from her private parts and when interrogated, she confessed that Ude had assaulted her by dipping his fingers into her which resulted in the injuries.
Kafanchan further told the court that the victim was taken to the Gwarinpa General Hospital for a test by the police and it was confirmed that she had been defiled, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
However, when the one-count charge was read to Ude, he pleaded not guilty and asked for a bail but the presiding Magistrate, Omolola Tolulope, rejected his request, citing the tense situation in the area where the alleged offence was committed as reason.
She therefore ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody while the case was adjourned to August 9, 2016, for hearing.
