Per the laws of the East African country, anyone found guilty of bestiality could be sentenced to a jailed term of up to 14 years.

However, the suspect has been granted a $1,000 bail so that he would be taken to the hospital for examination.

This follows his claimto that he had been assaulted by the police officers who arrested him.

The trial proceedings will reportedly resume on January 29.
