A 12-year old schoolboy died after falling from a rope swing and hitting a rock as he plunged into a river.
Ethan Rainey, was playing after school on the thick piece of rope near the River Dee at Llangollen, North Wales when he fell to his death.
An air ambulance helicopter, police units, firefighters were called to the incident at 5pm yesterday.
After they tried to save Ethan all to no avail, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His mother Tammie, was being comforted by family and friends.
Flowers were laid at the scene where the boy lost his life.
Ethan was described by teachers at his school as 'very happy, bubbly and kind'.
He was a keen sportsman, who represented his school at football, and had many friends.
'This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts are with the boy's family and friends. Detective Chief Inspector Neil Harrison told Daily Mail
Although the death is not being treated as suspicious, North Wales Police are investigating and inquiries will continue on behalf of the coroner.' he added.
