News reports have revealed the tragic incident that has led to the death of 3 school boys after falling into a hot sewer pit.
The trio aged 8 had reportedly been boiled to death in an 80C underground conduit after one of them had fallen in while the other two had tried to rescue their friend, ending up inside the conduit themselves.
The boys identified as Daniil Slisarenko, Alexander Sanko and Daniil Viik, hail from the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
UK Mirror reports that the tragedy had occurred due to the fact that the sewer which is situated in the grounds of their school, had not been repaired as soon as it opened up.
A local newspaper publisher, Yevgeny Sivayev, revealed saying:
"It is no exaggeration to say that the city is crying. Such grief we have not had before.
"It is impossible to look at children - their bodies are packed in bags.
"Judging by the fact that straps of the first boy's backpack were torn off, his friends wanted to help him as he fell and pulled him up.
"It did not work. So they fell in there trying to save him. The rescuers first found them, and could not reach the first boy for a long time."
