28-yr-old husband killer remanded in prison

Victoria Ambakadrimo, 28, stabbed her husband on the throat with a kitchen knife.

 

A Bayelsa High Court has ordered that the woman who stabbed her husband to death, be remanded in prison until final judgement.

Victoria Ambakadrimo, 28, stabbed her husband, Barrister Henry Gagariga on the throat with a kitchen knife around 11pm on Wednesday, February 4, following an argument bedroom and was sighted by neighbours while attempting to dump his body on the road.

She appeared before the court in Yenagoa for the first time, where the presiding judge, Justice A.S Rotimi, granted an appeal by the prosecuting counsel to remand Ambakadrimo at the Okaka medium security prison in Yenagoa until final judgment is read.

She pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of murder against her.

The woman was said to have wept uncontrollable as she was being escorted to prison at end of the court session.

Before carrying out the heinous crime, Victoria worked at the Bayelsa State Council for Arts and Culture and is reportedly the daughter of the retired director in the state Ministry of Information.

The proceeding was adjourned to 18th June 2015.
