Reports have revealed that the tree is rumoured to host witches and wizards within the area for meetings, hence its resilience in being cut down.

A video of an old tree located in Agbor, Delta State, now tagged, witch tree, has gone viral after rigorous efforts to bring it down failed.

The people of the community made the revelation after a caterpillar had been arranged to bring down the tree, only for it to 'refuse' to be cut down of uprooted.

The video clip shows the tree go all the way down, then bounce back up, as attempts to bring it down continually failed.

Superstitious passerbys can be heard shouting in the background as the tree, which apparently has strong roots, fails to be brought down, fueling the rumours that the witches and wizards were keeping the tree rooted.
