Hunter loses gun to brown Bear; runs for his life

A 57-year-old Hunter from Irkutsk region of Siberia, lost the very gun he had gone hunting with to a big brown Bear in a rather interesting manner.

The Hunter, according to odditycentral.com, had gone on a hunting expedition in the forests miles away from the nearest settlement, and on his way home, he decided to leave his belongings including the gun at a cabin in the forest and proceeded to get some water.

The man reportedly returned only to find a brown bear preying around the cabin. Out of panic, the hunter ran back into the forest to take cover.

The said gun is still in the custody to the brown bear and the hunter has reported the incident to the local police some days after the hilarious but serious encounter.

Police have said in a statement that “On November 16 [the man] was hunting miles away from the nearest village and decided to stay at a forest cabin. He left his belongings in the cabin and went to get some water. On his return, he heard some suspicious sounds and spotted a bear. To avoid an encounter with the animal, the hunter scurried off into the woods where he hid for several hours.”

Preliminary investigations around the incident scene revealed that the bear had scratched a few logs and chewed on a plastic bucket.

Suspicions are rife that the wild animal may have gone into hiding with the gun. However, it is not clear if the gun in the hands of the bear poses any danger to any other hunter or person who may find themselves within that very enclave.
